Charming elegance is what defines aha Avondale Boutique Hotel. Located in Greyville Durban, this quaint 4 star hotel has come a long way from its heydays as home to the Sharks Rugby Academy. Bought by the Kamdar Group last year; aha soon transformed the establishment into it being categorised as one of the leading boutique hotels in Durban after securing the full management contract. The hotel’s official launch took place on 19 February although it welcomed business and leisure guests from mid-December 2017.
More than 100 guests from various industries enjoyed a relaxed evening while indulging in mocktails and delicious hors-d’oeuvres. Amongst the guests was, Deputy Mayor of eThekwini Municipality, Cllr Fawzia Peer who had high praise for the new establishment and emphasised the city’s positive contribution towards tourism.
The hotel is beautifully designed, its regal colours and trendy contemporary pieces, perfectly matches its sleek city surrounds. It offers 17 en-suite rooms which comprise of five Superior King Suites, 10 Standard Queen Suites and two Family rooms. All rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioner, and digital safe and mini fridge. Certain suites have balconies adding to the spaciousness of the rooms. The establishments’ lush garden offers a tranquil setting.
Its central location makes it the ideal establishment for the business traveller and leisure guest. It boasts easy access to the trendiest eateries ranging from fine dining to casual laid-back cafés and bars close to the renowned Florida Road. Other close by amenities includes The Durban Botanical Gardens and Greyville Racecourse within walking distance, the best shopping malls and a range of entertainment areas such as the family-friendly seafront aquarium & water park uShaka Marine World, a mere 14 minutes away.
