Kamdar Group is a family-owned business with deep entrepreneurial roots in South Africa. The Group’s foundation was laid by Yousuf Kamdar, who began working at just 12 years old in the Karachi Cotton Exchange. After arriving in South Africa with nothing, he built his success from humble beginnings on the streets of Pietermaritzburg, to leading one of the country’s largest textile conglomerates. Guided by his belief that “no job is too small and no kindness too little” , Yousuf grew Kamdar Group into a diversified property enterprise. Over the past three decades, Kamdar Group has evolved into a multi-faceted property investment and development company with a portfolio exceeding R1.2 billion. The Group’s holdings span retail, commercial, industrial, residential, mixed-use and student accommodation properties across South Africa; namely KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape. Today, under the leadership of the next generation, Kamdar Group continues to grow organically. With dedicated management offices in Pietermaritzburg and Umhlanga, the Group develops and manages its own portfolio with a discreet, long-term approach; ensuring sustainable growth, innovation and a legacy designed to serve generations to come
